| Several analogues of this figurine from James B. Pritchard's Palestinian
Figurines in Relation to Certain Goddesses Known Through Literature. The second one
from the left is particularly interesing in that the goddess wears a mushooomic headdress,
comparable to those in Figure 4-6 of The Entheogenic Origins of Egyptian Crowns.
The last one, too, is particularly interesting in that it depicts a serpent coiled around
what Pritchard inferred had been the foot of a similar figurine, for serpents were
intimately tied to goddesses. |
